The Missed Opportunity: How Hugh Jackman Almost Played Robert Langdon in The Da Vinci Code Franchise but Still Thrived in Hollywood

One of the most famous roles of Hugh Jackman's career is undoubtedly playing the Marvel hero Wolverine. However, he could have also been known for a different iconic role in the film industry. In 2006, the film adaptation of Dan Brown's novel, The Da Vinci Code, was released with Tom Hanks in the leading role of Robert Langdon, a professor of religious symbolism.

Interestingly, the role was initially offered to Bill Paxton, known for his work in Aliens, but he turned it down. The filmmakers then turned to Hugh Jackman as their next choice for the character.
